Pricing and Registration are the most important things to understand when deciding to list something as a class or a camp.
While they both involve group activities and instruction, there are some key differences that help define how each is used in our system.
Classes are short, recurring sessions that customers can register for one at a time. This "drop-in" flexibility makes them ideal for skill-building over time without a long-term commitment.
Key Features:
๐ Recurring (e.g., weekly or bi-weekly)
โฑ Short duration (typically 30โ60 minutes)
๐ฏ Focus on skill development over time
๐ฅ Smaller, often level-specific groups
๐ณ Pay per session or via multi-session packages
โ Customers choose which sessions to attend
๐ Example: โBeginner Pitching โ every Wednesday at 5PM"
Camps are structured, one-off or multi-day programs where customers register once and attend the full experience. Theyโre typically offered during school breaks or as special events.
Key Features:
๐ Multi-day or one-time events
๐ Longer daily duration (e.g., 3โ6 hours per day)
๐ Fast-paced or immersive experiences
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ Larger, mixed-level groups are common
๐ Example: โSpring Break Hitting Camp โ March 11โ15, 9 AMโ1 PM dailyโ
Feature | Classes (Drop-in Sessions) | Camps |
Duration | 30โ60 min | Half-day or full-day |
Frequency | Weekly, ongoing | One-time or multi-day |
Structure | Ongoing progression | Immersive, intensive |
Audience | Smaller, skill-based groups | Larger, mixed-skill groups |
Scheduling | Ex: Repeats weekly | Defined date range |
Pricing | Pay per session, or set of sessions | One upfront payment at time of registration |
Registration | Customers select individual sessions | Automatically registered into all sessions |
Credits | Can apply per session | Cannot be applied to camps |
๐ง Tip
If it runs weekly and customers can pick the dates or sessions they would like to attend โ itโs a class.
If the customer does not get to choose which sessions they attend, and must pay in full, upfront โ itโs a camp.
